How to View and Kill Running Processes on Mac OS X

Viewing all the running proceses on your Mac machine will help you have an idea of which programs are using up much of your memory. This will also help you to identify and kill unnecessary processes that make your system run slow. Unlike windows PCs I personally find Macs to be rather simpler when it comes to identifying applications which are running, since most of them have simpler names. here is how to view and kill processes which are consuming your memory.

Open the activity monitor from Application-Utilities menu.

Click on the System Memory and the CPU buttons to view how much memory you are currently running on.

Scroll to identify which programs you wish to end, select it then click on the Quit Process button to end it. if the process hung you can choose to force quit it.4STBCU4M4KVE
