Safaricom Mpesa Rates 2016

Safaricom's mobile money transfer M-Pesa charges its customers a smaller transaction fee compared to other financial institutions. What makes it even more preferable is that the minimum amount of money a customer can send or receive was reduce to Kshs. 10 making it the lowest amount of money transferable via a money transfer service the country.

In August 2014, the company came up with new tariffs which saw a significant decrease in sending and withdrawals charges especially for amounts lower than 1,500. Safaricom thought it wise to make the changes since most of the users transact in lower amounts of between 50 - 1,500.

In the new rates, the transaction amount for Kshs. 2,500 and more went up some by upto 80%. Here are the new Mpesa Rates.
