Amazon Announces Login And Pay Service To Compete With PayPal

Amazon yesterday announced that it will be launching  a new service called Amazon Login and Pay which has been created to allow Amazon customers to log in and pay using the Amazon credentials on other third party websites, allowing online businesses to make Amazon customers their own.
The new platform has been created to streamline the methods that customers use to make payments with online merchants and will enable companies participating in the new scheme to enable their customers to move from browsing to purchasing with just a few clicks.

The new Login and Pay service has been designed around their customer account information and with 215 million active customer accounts in action, its sure to provide online businesses with a viable option for payment.

As well as providing the established payment gateways such as PayPal with additional competition for payment business. Speaking during the launch Tom Taylor, the Vice President, Amazon Payments explained a little more on how the new service will function:

“Login and Pay with Amazon enables companies to make millions of our customers their customers by inviting online shoppers with Amazon credentials to access their account information safely and securely with a single login.”
