1 Use pictures to tell your story.

People like visual stuff. So keep them entertained and informed by posting pictures that represent your brand daily. The photos that you post should have a theme to them. Make sure you don't lose the attention of the people following you by posting just some random pictures.

2- Have a call to Action.

If you decide to Market on Instagram your pictures should have a call to action.

A call to action is when you tell the viewer to take the next step. for instance: you may post a picture of yourself working from home with your laptop while in your pajamas. You could say something like.. "There's nothing like working from home. Check my website to find out how." Just make sure you are giving them the next step. If not, they will just scroll down to the next picture.

3- Use Hash Tags.

Hash Tags in Instagram work similar to Twitter hash tags. Their great because you can use them to find photos on certain topics. I notice I get more likes when I use hash tags that's relevant to the picture. Don't over do it. When you have too many Hash tags not only does it look like Spam. It kinda looks like your desperate for likes. Not a good look.

4- Connect Social Media sites to Instagram.

Instragram allows you to share your pictures with Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr etc. its a good idea to connect your social media sites to Instagram. That way you will attract your friends on other social media sites and this will lead them to join you on Instagram.

5- Have interesting photos.

As simple as this might seem. I had to say it anyway. I see marketers post pictures of text. (you can use apps to do this) trying to promote their business. This makes no sense! Instagram is not the site for that. You should have real pictures of yourself, your product, up coming projects, your vacations, the trainings you went to, etc.
