Ni no Kuni II is broken and no one knows how to fix it

Ever since the launch Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom on 28 March the internet has been riff with numerous PlayStation 4 users reporting of frequent issues with the game freezing and crashing. In addition, the Steam community is also reporting similar game breaking problems.
