HTC to launch an Android One version of U11 Life

After recent rumors showed Motorola's plans to introduce an Android One smartphone into the market in the form of a slightly modified X4, we're now being tipped about another major company that has similar plans.

HTC is expected to launch an Android One version of its unreleased HTC U11 Life, also known as Ocean Life. The new smartphones will feature same designs and specs, but theAndroid One model will come with Android stock on board.

None of the HTC apps will be included on the Android One variant of HTC U11 Life. Moreover, the smartphone will run Android Oreo with Sense 9.0_A1 UI on top.

The photo shows the standard HTC U11 Life and the Android One model side by side. As everyone can see, they're the same with the exception of the software that runs inside. Design-wise, the phones have a rather thick chin, but not everyone likes edge-to-edge screens these days, right?

The Ocean Life is supposed to be launched later this year as a mid-range smartphone. It's said to feature a 5.2-inch full HD (1080p) display, a 16-megapixel rear-facing snap shooter and a no less impressive 16-megapixel camera in the front.

In the hardware, HTC will include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 CPU inside, along with 32GB expandable storage. There's no word on the amount of RAM, but rumor has it the phone is IP67 rated and comes with HTC Usonic earbuds with active noise cancellation.
