Disable Location Services in OS X

This is something that some Mac users are still not aware of. By default your Mac will periodically send  out your anonymized data with specific location information to Apple, which is meant to provide location based services to its customers with apple products. If you want to be anonymous you have an option to disable the tracking of your location, here is how to do it.

  • Go to system security

  • Click on security

  • Under the general tab, click the unlock button and enter your admin password

  • Select the check box next to " Disable Location Services"

  • Close the system preferences and you are done.
